Fighting on the undercard of his second consecutive Roy Jones Jr. pay-per-view, Winky Wright defends his IBF Super Welterweight Championship against the tough Angel Hernandez. Hernandez remains undeterred by Wright's clean punches and keeps coming all night, slugging it out with the champion and winning some rounds quite convincingly. Wright finally staggers him with a volley of shots in the seventh when Hernandez drops his gloves. In the tenth, Hernandez pats his chin to taunt Wright and trades bombs with him. After twelve rounds, Wright wins a convincing unanimous decision that is hardly indicative of the rough fight he is in.
