Marvin Hagler defends the Middleweight Championship in his home state of Massachusetts against Tony Sibson of England. Boxing beautifully, Hagler opens up cuts on Sibson's nose and left eye with his stiff right jab. Sibson finally succumbs to the punishment, going down once on his backside and a second time on his hands and knees, in the sixth round. Somehow, Sibson beats the count but remains out on his feet, forcing Referee Carlos Padilla to stop the massacre.
