Steve Cunningham vs Marco Huck

Steve Cunningham vs Marco Huck

Seidensticker Halle, Bielefeld, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany

200 lbs

Marlon Wright

IBF Cruiserweight World Title

Huck was very aggressive and effective in the first two rounds, but the quick-handed Cunningham started boxing better in round three. As the fight went on, Cunningham was often driven into the ropes where Huck teed off. The tide turned in round five when Cunningham landed a good right hand, but Huck was back on the attack with big shots in the sixth. Huck was bleeding from the left ear in round seven, and both fighters landed heavy shots. Round eight was a good round for Cunningham and he had more left in the tank than Huck did in rounds nine and ten. Sensing he may need a knockout, a very tired Huck went all out in round eleven and outworked Cunningham. Cunningham, however, staggered Huck with a big uppercut in round twelve and Huck's corner threw in the towel during Cunningham's brutal follow-up attack.
