It had been two and a half to three years since Huck vs Afolabi III took place, since their third fight, Afolabi had gotten three wins under his belt, lost one to Victor Emilio Ramirez, but still performed very well indeed, whilst Huck was on a winning streak following his second victory over the Brit, but suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Krzysztof Glowacki, and many questioned just what that loss had taken out of him, and obviously, he wasn't a world champion anymore. This fight turned out very differently to the the first three, although the early rounds were tentative, and there wasn't a lot in it, Huck begun to dominate as the rounds went on, and ultimately, he out classed Afolabi, he begun to beat him up as the later rounds approached, Afolabi took some risks and had more success at one stage, but he wasn't able to deter or dissuade Huck at all, and he ended up just becoming more fatuigued, and giving Huck more openings, which Huck took advantage of, the major facial damage caused by Huck's punches was another problem for Afolabi. After 10 rounds, Afolabi and his team knew he must have been a long way behind on the scorecards, and because the fight had become very one sided, and he was just taking more and more punishment, Afolabi's trainer pulled him out of the fight, meaning Marco Huck would become a world champion again, and pretty much settle this rivalry once and for all.
