WBC Heavyweight Champion Larry Holmes makes easy work of Scott LeDoux in the challenger's home state of Minnesota. With linear Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali in the crowd crowing for a fight against him, Holmes bides his time taking LeDoux apart with his jab. In the sixth round, Holmes lands a right hand that sends LeDoux spinning away and dropping to his knees. With LeDoux's left eye closing, Holmes batters him in the seventh until Referee Davey Pearl stops the fight. LeDoux and the crowd are irate with the decision as Ali climbs onto the ring apron and calls Holmes out.
