The War: Wladimir Klitschko vs. David Haye

WBA/IBF/WBO Heavyweight Championship

After three years of talking trash, WBA Heavyweight Champion David Haye finally gets in the ring with IBF and WBO Champion Wladimir Klitschko to unify their titles in the most anticipated fight for the division since the retirement of Lennox Lewis. Despite the hype, both men fight very timidly, with Haye only taking chances in the third and fourth rounds to catch Klitschko with a few big leaping shots to the head. After Klitschko buckles his knees with a one-two late in the fifth round, Haye spends the rest of the night complaining to Referee Gino Rodriguez every time Wladimir puts a glove on him, which results in Klitschko losing a questionable point for pushing in the seventh round but also a point deduction for Haye on what is certainly not a knockdown but another push in the eleventh. A spirited twelfth round from both men is the closest the fight ever comes to the classic is it supposed to be, and Klitschko wins a landslide unanimous decision to finally shut Haye's mouth.
