WBC Super Featherweight Champion Alexis Arguello moves up to 135 pounds in search of another title and first faces once-beaten southpaw Cornelius Boza-Edwards in a tough bout. Boza-Edwards snaps Arguello's head up with a left hand in the third round and continues the attack into the fourth until Arguello staggers him with a straight right hand. After two competitive rounds, Arguello wobbles Boza-Edwards with big right hands at the end of the seventh. Another right hand knocks Boza-Edwards's mouthpiece out early in the eighth. Arguello continues to rip Boza-Edwards with punishing shots, forcing his corner to throw in the towel before the ninth round.
