Undefeated WBO Featherweight Champion "Prince" Naseem Hamed gets the toughest fight of his career from former titleholder Manuel Medina. Hamed bloodies Medina's nose in the second round and jumps in to floor him with a left hand, but Medina beats the count and comes back strong, beating Hamed to the punch over the middle rounds and dominating the champion at times. He knocks Hamed's mouthpiece out in a one-sided eighth round, but Hamed has a bigger ninth as he puts Medina on his backside with a left hook and straight right hand. Medina fights back strong but walks into another straight right that puts him down again. After Hamed buckles his knees with a right hand in the eleventh, Medina's corner pulls their man out before the twelfth, giving Hamed a hard-fought victory.
