Fresh off a first-round knockout of Andrew Golota, WBO Heavyweight Champion Lamon Brewster defends his title in dramatic fashion over Luan Krasniqi in Germany. After brawling with Krasniqi after the bell to end the first round, Brewster falls behind on points on foreign soil until nearly taking the challenger's head off with a left hook in the eighth round that sends him to the canvas. Referee Jose Hiram Rivera administers a count as long as fourteen seconds, allowing Krasniqi to questionably beat the count. Brewster finally finishes him for good when, after being knocked between the ropes in the ninth, Krasniqi opts out of the bout.
