Hatton wrests the lineal 140 lb. world championship from Tszyu in a messy fight that sees plenty of clinching and below-the-beltline blows. After retiring on his stool and relinquishing his championship, Tszyu got on the mic in front of 22,000 fans at the MEN Arena and applauded his opponent, essentially "passing the torch" and retiring. Hatton went on to garner 2005 Fighter of the Year honors for the victory.
