For the second defense of his WBO Super Middleweight Championship, undefeated Joe Calzaghe becomes the first man to stop veteran contender Juan Carlos Gimenez. Gimenez never comes out of his defensive shell, allowing Calzaghe to easily pile up points by pounding shots around his guard. Calzaghe tries to coax him out by dropping his gloves and dancing, but Gimenez refuses to engage. After their man catches some hard shots from Calzaghe in rounds eight and nine, Gimenez's corner throws in the towel before the tenth.
