James Toney vs. Rydell Booker
Temecula, CA
Heavyweight lbs
Raul Caiz Sr
Coming off a year-long layoff after tearing his Achilles prior to a proposed bout with Jameel McCline, James Toney continues his heavyweight campaign against undefeated contender Rydell Booker. Toney puts a beating on the youngster, hurting him with a right hand in the eighth round and forcing Booker to take a knee. Although he is hurt again in the tenth, Booker manages to survive to the final bell thanks to Toney clowning around in the championship rounds. After twelve rounds, Toney wins a wide unanimous decision.
