No Risk, No Reward: James Toney vs. Samuel Peter

Los Angeles, CA
Heavyweight lbs
Raul Caiz Sr.
Coming off a draw with Hasim Rahman for the WBC Heavyweight Championship, James Toney looks to get back in line for a title shot by taking on the hard-hitting Samuel Peter. Toney boxes well for most of the fight, but Peter has him discombobulated with some heavy right hands in a few tense moments in the first half of the fight. Peter is later deducted a point for clapping his gloves around Toney's ears. In the end, two of the three judges favor Peter's power over Toney's slick boxing as Toney loses a controversial split decision.
