In his first fight since being knocked out by a left hand from Sergio Martinez, Paul Williams takes on another slick southpaw in undefeated Erislandy Lara. Proving that he has not recovered from the devastating knockout, Williams eats hard left hands from Lara all night, several of which buckle his knees. A clash of heads in the fifth round opens a cut over Williams' left eye and causes a hematoma above Lara's. In one of the worst decisions in a decade, the judges inexplicably name Williams the winner by a majority decision.
