Bernard Hopkins vs. Carl Daniels
Reading, PA

WBC/WBA/IBF Middleweight Championship
After stopping Felix Trinidad and unifying the WBC, WBA and IBF Middleweight titles in September, Bernard Hopkins comes home to Pennsylvania to defend his crown against mandatory contender Carl Daniels as part of a doubleheader to Roy Jones Jr.'s Light Heavyweight Championship defense against Glen Kelly in Miami in order to build interest in a super fight between the undisputed champions. Hopkins methodically takes Daniels apart for eight rounds before sending him stumbling across the ring, his glove nearly touching the canvas, after four consecutive left hooks. The defiant Daniels talks trash to Hopkins while taking punishment in the corner, but his corner elects to stop the fight after the tenth round, leaving Hopkins plenty of time to argue live with Jones.
