Fighting on the undercard of the rematch between Mike Tyson and Frank Bruno, IBF Middleweight Champion Bernard Hopkins takes on undefeated knockout artist Joe Lipsey. After three action-packed rounds, Lipsey starts to wear down, allowing Hopkins to freeze him in his tracks with an uppercut that also knocks out the challenger's mouthpiece. Hopkins rushes in with three wide-open shots, sending Lipsey smashing into the canvas. Referee Mitch Halpern dives on top of Lipsey, stopping the fight without bothering to count.
