"Challenger Ayub Kalule of Uganda outpunched Japan's Masashi Kudo and won the WBA junior middleweight title in a 15 round unanimous decision Wednesday night. There were no knockdowns but the 25 year old Kalule, based in Copenhagen, appeared to be in control throughout, occasionally staggering Kudo with sharp counterpunches. Kalule made good use of his right jabs, right hooks and straight lefts from his southpaw stance against the 154 pound champion." -Associated Press
