After knocking out Juan Nazario in a single round to annex the WBA title, undisputed Lightweight Champion Pernell Whitaker sets his sights on jumping to 140 pounds to take on WBO Champion Hector Camacho. The two share a billing in which Whitaker makes the first defense of his unified crown against Kronk Gym pupil Anthony Jones. Despite Camacho losing in controversial fashion on the undercard, Whitaker takes care of business by standing his ground and out fighting Jones for twelve rounds en route to a near-shutout on the scorecards.
