Arthur Abraham vs. Andre Dirrell
Detroit, MI
168 lbs
Laurence Cole
Arthur Abraham suffers the first defeat of his career in shocking fashion when he travels to the home turf of Andre Dirrell in Group Stage Two of the Super Six World Boxing Classic. Dirrell dominates the fight from the start, easily out boxing Abraham and putting him on the seat of his pants for the first time in Abraham's career with a straight left hand in the fourth round. After suffering a cut over his right eye in the seventh, Abraham comes back to knock Dirrell down with a right hand in the tenth; however, Referee Laurence Cole rules it a slip. When Dirrell slips in round eleven, Abraham hits him across the mouth with a right hand while down, knocking his foe cold but costing himself the fight and his "0" when Cole disqualifies him for the foul.
