His first assignment comes against undefeated WBA Super Middleweight Champion Andre Ward on Ward's home court of Oakland. Ward shows a new wrinkle in his game by fighting inside and mugging Green for twelve one-sided rounds. The judges award Ward a shutout as he advances to the semifinals of the tournament.
