WBC Super Featherweight Champion Alexis Arguello has to weather a difficult storm from challenger Ruben Castillo over eleven rounds. After Arguello stuns him with a straight right hand in the second round, Castillo starts opening up in the third and tags the champion with big shots from rounds five through nine, winning most of them decisively. Down on points, Arguello turns the tide with a big rally in the tenth and sends Castillo crumpling into the corner with a left hook to the head and one to the body in the eleventh. Castillo struggles to extricate himself from the ropes and stumbles once on his feet by the count of ten, prompting Referee Octavio Meyran to wave off the fight.
