Fighting on the undercard of a bout between Featherweight Champion "Prince" Naseem Hamed and Cesar Soto, Erik Morales attempts to make a statement against Wayne McCullough. Fighting on Halloween, Hamed plays to the crowd with a spooky entrance walk through a graveyard, accompanied by a phantom playing organ. He tries to dispatch McCullough early but, after failing to crack the challenger's iron chin, instead utilizes his boxing skills to get him through. Forced to go twelve rounds, Hamed retains his title by unanimous decision.
