In a brutal battle between two warriors, on the undercard of Miguel Cotto vs Saul Alvarez, Francisco Vargas outfights a brave, dangerous Takshi Miura in a closely fought all out war, and in doing so, he wins the WBC world super featherweight title. This bout is all the more appreciated on account if the fact that it was in the same evening as a very unpopular, very lacklustre contest between the skilled and talented but not so popular Guillermo Rigondeaux, and an opponent who wasn't up to standard.

Heavy hitting Mexican, Miguel Berchelt, makes his first defence of his world title (the WBC featherweight world title which he won from Francisco Vargas in an all out war which took place in late 2016), taking on tough, Japanese warrior, Takashi Miura, a fighter who fought Francisco Vargas in what many believed to be the fight of year, in 2015, on the undercard of Miguel Cotto vs Saul Alvarez, a former world champion, as well. The fight takes place at the Forum Arena in Inglewood, California.
