Danny Garcia proves his class by defeating Kendall Holt on the undercard of the Hopkins-Dawson main event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.  The final verdict of split decision raised a few eyebrows, including the 115-113 Holt scorecard turned in by last-minute substitute judge Wayne Hedgpeth.

Both fighters scored knockdowns in the fight.
The stoppage was controversial, Showtime annoucers didn't agree with Charles Dwyer's decision to call a halt to the contest.
At the time of the stoppage, Holt was ahead on all the judges' scorecards, two of them scoring the fight 68-63 in his favour, the other, having it closer, at 67-64.
