Jose Luis Castillo vs Cesar Bazan

Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo meet in a rematch of arguably the greatest fight in the history of boxing from earlier in the year. Feeling cheated by Corrales spitting out his mouthpiece in the first bout, Castillo intentionally fails to make weight and attempts to have his camp tamper with the scale. With the Lightweight Championship no longer on the line due to his failure to make weight, the stronger Castillo has no trouble out-slugging and knocking out Corrales in the fourth round.

The Rematch: Diego Corrales vs. Jose Luis Castillo II

The lightweight unification bout between WBC champion Castillo and WBO champion Corrales turned into one of the all-time greatest and most brutal slugfests. Castillo was ahead on two of the cards and knocked down Corrales twice in the tenth round, but Corrales wisely spit out his mouthpiece on both occasions to garner some precious seconds to recover, eventually bombing out Castillo against the ropes and forcing Weeks to stop the fight.
