Winky Wright travels to the home turf of WBO Super Welterweight Champion Bronco McKart for his second attempt at a title. Fighting behind his stiff right jab, Wright out works his fellow southpaw in virtually every round. Although McKart comes on strong in the championship rounds, it's not enough to turn back the challenger, who wins on a much closer than expected and curious split decision as one judge surprisingly has McKart ahead.

Fighting on the undercard of a bout between Roy Jones Jr. and Clinton Woods, Winky Wright and Bronco McKart square off for the third time in six years as Wright defends his IBF Super Welterweight Championship. The third fight proves the best of the three early on as both men land hard shots; however, when McKart's start to stray low, Referee Michael Fischer docks him two points in the seventh round. McKart loses another point for the infraction in the eighth before Wright wobbles him with a straight left hand. After penalizing McKart two more points for low blows in the ninth, Fischer finally calls off the fight, disqualifying the challenger.

Four years after their first fight, Winky Wright and Bronco McKart square off for the second time. While McKart lands some clean, hard shots through the first six rounds, Wright takes over the second half of the fight and keeps his foe at bay. After twelve rounds, Wright wins another decision - this time unanimous - over McKart.
