Derevyanchenko versus Soliman, 12 round IBF eliminator bout for the #2-spot in the rankings. Soliman's camp took offense with Dereyanchenko's hand tape wrap. Derevyanchenko's camp took offense with Soliman's hand tape. Both hand tapes were wider and longer than Connecticut regulations would allow. Both corners were found to have wrapped their fighters' hand tapes with improper hand tape by length and width, and both corners then had to remove the hand tapes on their fighters hands and rewrap them to meet commission approval. Derevyanchenko landed a left right combination to the head which dropped Soliman on one knee for a six count in the first round. In the second round, Derevyanchenko dropped Soliman with three rights and a left hook, who got up. When action resumed-Soliman-backing up on wobbly legs-did not regain his senses, went down again and got stopped on his back out at 2:41 when referee Johnny Callas waived it off.
