Roy Jones Jr. moves up to light heavyweight to face Mike McCallum for the interim WBC Championship as Fabrice Tiozzo decides whether to make the jump to cruiserweight. In a boxing first, six different judges score the fight as the Florida State Athletic Commission and the World Boxing Council refuse to allow the other party to appoint the judges. In the end, Jones dominates the veteran McCallum, putting him down late in the tenth round and winning every round on the cards of the FSAC judges. The more well-known WBC judges have it a few points closer but still to Jones, who eventually becomes full WBC Champion when Tiozzo vacates the title.
