WBO Super Lightweight Championship
In the second best fight of 2005, unbeaten super lightweights collide when WBO Champion Miguel Cotto goes to war with Ricardo Torres - a last-minute replacement for Gianluca Branco - on the undercard of the first fight between Wladimir Klitschko and Sam Peter. Cotto is stunned in the opening round but comes back to knock Torres down. Torres returns the favor by putting Cotto on the canvas for the first time in his career in the second round. Climbing off the canvas, Cotto regains control and puts Torres down again in the fourth. Refusing to yield, Torres hurts Cotto once more in round five before the champion answers with a knockdown in the sixth. They come out swinging in the seventh round, and it's Torres who goes down for a ten-count, ending a classic.
