In his first fight since suffering the first defeat of his career to Antonio Margarito, Miguel Cotto returns to Madison Square Garden to face unheralded Michael Jennings. Cotto makes quick work of Jennings, rattling his head with a left hook in the fourth round and then dropping him to his knee with one to the body. Another body shot puts Jennings on his knees again before the end of the round, but he bravely fights on, bleeding from his nose. After a pair of right hands to the head, Jennings goes down on a knee once more at the end of the fifth. He stands at the count of 9, but Referee Benjy Esteves stops the fight anyway.
