Johnson was originally declared the winner of the fight when the scorecards were read. An announcement was made minutes later saying there was a scoring error but Johnson was still the winner. Then after the Angel Manfredy-Julio Diaz main event, another announcement was made saying Marquez was the winner by split decision after the scorecards were reviewed again.
