When Kostya Tszyu pulls out of their highly anticipated rematch, Sharmba Mitchell opts to stay busy and put his number one contender status on the line against the tough Lovemore N'Dou. Instead, N'Dou nearly pulls off the upset, stunning Mitchell when he turns southpaw in the fourth round and buckles his knees with a right hook. Mitchell manages to come back and hurt N'Dou with a straight left hand in the ninth, but N'Dou finishes strong, dominating the final three rounds. After twelve rounds, however, the judges see Mitchell a controversial winner by unanimous decision and by surprisingly wide margins.
