Undefeated Heavyweight Champion Larry Holmes comes home to Pennsylvania to make the fourteenth defense of his title against Lucien Rodriguez. Holmes gets in a nice workout as he treats Rodriguez like a sparring partner, occasionally hurting the challenger with big right hands and uppercuts. In the sixth round, Rodriguez runs into an uppercut that drops him to a knee and a glove, but the challenger manages to keep his distance from Holmes long enough to go twelve rounds, where he loses a shutout unanimous decision.
