WBC Super Welterweight Champion Saul Alvarez completes the third defense of his title against Kermit Cintron in Mexico. Similar to his failings against Antonio Margarito, Cintron is forced to a glove and a knee after three right hands from Alvarez in the fourth round. Although Cintron beats the count, a left hook before the bell opens a cut on his nose and has him sagging against the ropes, seemingly out on his feet. When a right hand from Alvarez doubles Cintron over at the end of the fifth, Referee Hector Afu stops the fight.
