WBC Super Lightweight Championship
Julio Cesar Chavez drops down to 140 pounds for one last title shot against WBC Super Lightweight Champion Kostya Tszyu. Tszyu surgically takes the legendary Chavez apart with jabs and straight right hands while Chavez tries to respond with low blows. Moments after Referee Robert Ferrara docks Chavez a point for a low blow in the sixth round, Tszyu delivers a one-two that drops him onto his hands and knees. Chavez pulls himself to his feet with help of the ropes, but Tszyu resumes pounding him against them until Ferrara stops the fight. Chavez's fans respond by throwing objects into the ring, but Chavez himself offers no protest.
