Jimmy Young vs. George Foreman
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Heavyweight lbs
Waldemar Schmidt
Jimmy Young earns a big win over George Foreman over twelve rounds. He jumps out to an early lead by out boxing Foreman and complains enough to get Referee Waldemar Schmidt to deduct a point from Foreman in the third for pushing down on the back of his head. Foreman comes on strong over the middle rounds and hurts Young with a big left hook in the seventh. Despite wobbling all over the ring, Young comes back to drill Foreman with some big shots before the end of the round and into the eighth. Young finishes the stronger of the two and stings Foreman with a one-two before dropping him into the ropes with another in the twelfth. Foreman finishes on his feet, but Young gets the unanimous decision from the judges.
