After his hard fight against Alex Stewart, George Foreman continues his bid for a shot at the Heayvweight Championship by sharing a billing with Tommy Morrison. Foreman is tasked with facing Pierre Coetzer and finds himself out worked over the first several rounds but chips away with his thudding jab, opening a massive cut on Coetzer's nose. In the fourth round, Foreman freezes Coetzer with a huge left hook that sends him collapsing onto his back. Although Coetzer beats the count, Foreman continues to land big shots and even stops to tell Referee Joe Cortez to stop the bout. A one-two from Foreman drops Coetzer to his knees in the eighth. The tough Coetzer gets up but eats an uppercut, prompting Cortez to stop him on his feet.
