After upsetting Ray Mercer, former Heavyweight Champion Larry Holmes finds himself positioned for one last crack at the title when he takes on Evander Holyfield, who is left without a dance partner when Mike Tyson is convicted and sentenced to prison. Holmes has a good time on the big stage, correcting Michael Buffer during the introductions, talking to George Foreman at ringside in the middle of rounds and patting Holyfield's trainer Lou Duva on the head after the second round. The former champion wins several rounds with crisp power punching, but Holyfield has more in the tank down the stretch and outworks Holmes with a convincing unanimous decision.
