More than a year after losing the Heavyweight Championship to Michael Moorer, Evander Holyfield returns to boxing with a clean bill of health to take on highly rated contender Ray Mercer. In a throwback of a battle, both men land big shots through the first half of the fight until Mercer opens a bad cut over Holyfield's eye in the sixth round. Ever the warrior, Holyfield rallies to make Mercer take a knee after a left hook in the eighth round - the first knockdown of his career.
