Erik Morales moves up to 130 pounds in an attempt to capture the WBC title from Jesus Chavez. After Chavez hurts him in the opening round, Morales comes back to floor the champion twice in the second. Chavez beats the count and fights valiantly with limited use of his right arm over the second half of the bout, but Morales lifts the title with a hard fought but convincing unanimous decision win.
