Undefeated IBF Super Featherweight Champion Diego Corrales faces Justin Juuko in a non-title bout on the undercard of the super fight between Oscar De La Hoya and Shane Mosley. Corrales cuts Juuko over the left eye in the third round and then hits him with a left hook in the fourth that, after a delayed reaction, makes Juuko touch a glove to the canvas. Juuko shows heart in continuing to battle it out with Corrales, winning rounds down the stretch, but Corrales drops him onto a glove and a knee with a hard right hand in the tenth. With Juuko having taken a beating, Referee Marty Denkin stops the bout without bothering to count.
