Davey Moore vs. Roberto Duran

Roberto Duran attempts to capture a title in a third weight class when he challenges undefeated Davey Moore for the WBA Super Welterweight Championship. They trade bombs in the first two rounds, with Duran freezing Moore up with a right hand in the second and absorbing a three-punch combination from the champion at the end of the round, after which they get in each other's face. Moore again lights Duran up with flush shots at the end of the fifth, but Duran takes them all well. After Duran tears into him in the sixth, Moore comes out for the seventh with his right eye swollen shut and bleeding from his left eye. Duran knocks Moore into the ropes, hurts him and eventually puts him down on his backside against the ropes with a wicked right hand. Although Moore valiantly beats the count and manages to stay on his feet through a brutal eighth round, his corner finally throws in the towel to save him further punishment.
