On a massive undercard, for a massive fight, none other than Kovalev vs Ward, the most eagerly anticipated fight of 2016, heavy handed Maurice Hooker takes on former WBA lightweight world champion Darleys Perez in a 10 round fight. Perez out worked, out boxed, confused, and frustrated Hooker throughput the fight, it seemed like the right scores for the fight would have been along the lines of 98-92, 99-91, for Perez, and it seemed like a great win for him after that crushing defeat to Anthony Crolla. The judges shocked fans and pundits with their ludicrous decision, Glenn Feldman scored the fight a draw, whilst Robert Hoyle turned in a barely thinkabke 97-93 for Hooker, and whilst still being generous to the big punching American, Adalaide Bryd seemed to score the fight in a sane way. This was a massive setback for Darleys Perez, because he won this fight, legitimately, he won the fight clearly, and by a long way. This fight will go down as an invalid decision, it wasn't the main event, it wasn't even a title fight, which means it isn't ths most famous, but whenever it is talked about, everyone remembers it for the scandelous decision it was.
