After losing his rematch for the Middleweight Championship to Jermain Taylor, Bernard Hopkins looks to make history elsewhere and jumps to 175 pounds to take on Light Heavyweight Champion and self-proclaimed legend killer Antonio Tarver in what is to be his final bout. In a fight he is expected to lose, Hopkins turns the tables by out punching Tarver, even scoring an official knockdown when Tarver's glove touches the canvas after eating a right hand in the fifth round. Hopkins continues to punish Tarver en route to a wide unanimous decision victory.
