Appearing on the undercard of a bout between Erik Morales and Kevin Kelley, undefeated IBF Super Featherweight Champion Diego Corrales defends hit title against Angel Manfredy. Manfredy starts off boxing well but foolishly trades left hooks with Corrales and gets flattened midway through the first round. He recovers well and lands some clean shots in the second and third round but walks into another left hook from Corrales that has him hurt. Corrales rains blows on Manfredy, including a left hook that makes his knee touch down on the canvas for another knockdown. Although Manfredy continues, he eats heavy leather from Corrales until a big right hand drops him into the ropes for a third knockdown. Manfredy shows incredible heart in beating the count, but Referee Jerry McKenzie stops him on his feet as he continues to take punishment from Corrales.
