IBF Middleweight Champion Bernard Hopkins travels to the backyard of challenger Andrew Council in defense of his title. Hopkins cuts Council over the left eye and hurts him badly in the sixth round. Moments later, rambunctious Referee Kenny Chevalier deducts the challenger a point for refusing to break on his command. In the next round, Hopkins knocks Council down with a low blow, prompting Chevalier to deduct a point from the champion. When Council returns the favor in the ninth round, he loses a point as well. Chevalier intervenes once more in the twelfth to again dock Council a point for not breaking, leading to a wide unanimous decision for Hopkins, who gets on the house microphone after the bout to issue an open challenge.
